This project maps the phenomenon of Florentine political exile in France in the sixteenth-century, documenting the migration patterns, social networks, and cultural exchanges of Florentine communities abroad. Our research focuses on archival records, correspondence, and commercial transactions to reconstruct these historical movements with unprecedented detail.

We are presenting the first outcomes of the Prin Italian Lily project. Our aim is to bring to light the great influence of Italian culture, particularly legal and historical culture, in France, through the dissemination of works, ideas and people with very different roles and tasks.
